Dates: 29 and 30 September , 2011

Venue: Kurshumli An, Skopje

Public Room Skopje in cooperation with Transartists from Amsterdam within 2 effective days (29 and 30 september) from 10:00 till 17:00, will reveal the secrets about AiR programmes. 2 experienced trainers from Transartists have developed the workshop programme in that way so the participants will meet the criteria of the international AiR programmes, learn where and how to find AiR but will also go profoundly in the process of application (presenting yourself by making good portfolio and follow the criteria). During the workshop the participants will sincerely apply to different international organizations and get their feedback.
Successful artist these days are characterized as open minded, with excellent knowledge about other cultures, internationally involved and cooperative on different levels. National frames are becoming too tight for the open mindsets which perpetually need to explore in order to be creative and remain productive.
In general residence programs nurture the open mindset of guest artists, as well as hosts and public, and in doing so they encourage the international exchange of diverse experiences and (inter)cultural expressions. Mobility opportunities and more specific, artist- in-residence (AiR) programs, have become of major importance to professional artists as an essential part of their artistic development and professional careers. AiR programs provide artists with opportunities to explore their creative process with peers from other countries and cultures, produce work and extend their professional network. They provide opportunities for an intense expansion of circulation of artistic mentalities and artistic products, not only among peers but also among a wide range of public.

We encourage all profiles of artists, designers, architects from Macedonia age group 20 – 35 to apply for the workshop. Each participant on AIR has to be motivated for meeting new destinations in the future and to have an understanding of different issues and cultures. You need to provide significant input during the entire workshop. You also have to be able to communicate in English, because it’s the official language of the project.
